UTILEV grows its market into the farming equipment sector

The Barloworld Agriculture Dealership in Middelburg is a distributor of farming equipment as well as other farming implements throughout the Mpumalanga Province. The company is part of the Barloworld group, which includes Barloworld Handling, the official distributor in Southern Africa for both Hyster and UTILEV materials handling equipment.

The Barloworld Agriculture dealerships across South Africa will distribute the UTILEV range of forklift trucks, in addition to the range of agricultural products and equipment they currently offer, as the farming community is a key target user of this type of handling equipment.

The dealership in Middelburg keeps two units in stock – one is positioned in the showroom for sale and the other is being used in the workshop to assist the in-house mechanic with his service and maintenance activities. This truck is also available as a demonstration unit for potential customers to test, when they visit the premises.

CS-Barloworld-quote.jpgThe mechanic uses the truck to move parts and components around the workshop, and the truck has been a great help to him and has improved the efficiency of the workshop (as many of the farm machinery components are heavy and difficult to handle by hand!)

The workshop truck is used quite intensively, lifting and moving these heavy components, but only for short periods of time. The mechanic confirmed that it is easy to use, reliable, quiet, comfortable and very responsive, and has excellent fuel economy.

Furthermore, he stated, based on his experience, that the truck is ideal for self-servicing customers, as it is very simple to service and maintain, and that replacement parts are readily available from the Barloworld Handling network.
